Late Night Anime

Kyoto Animation is one of my favourite Anime Production Teams. I was first total attracted by their famous anime 'The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi'. It's a totally interesting, funny, bizarre, (any good adjective that you can put) anime. The chemistry and events and the Japanese joke are so extremely well placed. Thanks to our National TV station for playing it even though it in the midnight. I was first pretty curious on why the TV wanted to play it in the midnight since the anime is actually suitable for age 0 to 1000 and it is so so so popular in Japan itself. After that, I found that, in Japan itself, the anime is rated as 'Late-Night-Anime' and played in the TV after midnight as well. Perhaps that's the reason why over here is playing it late night too, even though the anime was played at noon time during the school holiday (after more than half a year later).

Of course, anything that played at the late night wouldn't attract much audiences especially the kids might need to go to school early in the morning while people like us would need to go to work as well. Even though the anime was so popular, but pls don't misunderstanding by thinking that the Japanese doesn't sleep. In fact, the anime production was much more to DVD release purpose. However, since it is co-produced by their TV station, hence they insisted to play it even in the midnight. I really don't know the actual reason but it does happen and even happening now (on new anime).

However, that doesn't really affect the popularity of the anime itself since the DVD is released as well and also due to 1 big factor: Japanese world-uniquely OTAKU.

Otaku (おたく or オタク, Otaku?) is a derisive term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime and manga
